It’s the second time in a row that the craveable taco has won top honors.

Some people can’t get enough of tacos made with soft flour tortillas, while others prefer a crispy shell. And while there are people out there who love a dollop of sour cream on their tacos, some taco purists think the best ones only need some chopped onion and cilantro. But when it comes to fast food tacos, there’s an undeniable champion.

For the second year in a row, cult-favorite chain Taco John’s has taken the top honor for “best fast food taco” from USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards with its Taco Bravo.

The Taco Bravo is similar to the currently discontinued Double Decker taco from Taco Bell: it features a crispy taco shell filled with beef, cheddar cheese, taco sauce, and shredded lettuce, all wrapped in a layer of refried beans and a warm flour tortilla

“From our beginnings as a small taco shop in Wyoming, we’ve built our brand on delivering delicious, quality tacos, great value, and West-Mex hospitality that makes every guest feel at home,” said Heather Neary, President & CEO of Taco John’s, in a statement shared with Parade. “Winning this honor once was incredibly rewarding. Receiving it again for a second consecutive year is even more meaningful because it reflects our guests’ voices. The Taco Bravo continues to stand above the competition, and we’re excited to celebrate this recognition with the fans who have been with us for years—and those just discovering us.”

To celebrate the achievement, Taco John’s is offering beef Taco Bravos for just $1 all day on Wednesday, July 29, but only in restaurants and through the drive-thru, not via the company’s app or through third-party delivery services.
