Nivea shared the news during an appearance on the series Cadillac Chronicles.

R&B singer Nivea revealed that she was diagnosed with leukemia earlier this year during an appearance on the series Cadillac Chronicles. She shared that she has been undergoing treatment for several months, and this experience has given him a new outlook on life.

“Everything has been put into perspective,” she explained, adding that she was reminded how quickly things can change. Because of that, she is taking care of every single opportunity, which includes her music as well as going to school for audio engineering. However, outside of this, she did not announce any specific upcoming projects.

“I’m just getting back to what I love most,” Nivea said.

She also emphasized how important family is, having four children, three of whom she shares with her ex-husband and R&B singer The-Dream. Nivea also shares a son with Lil Wayne.

Fans sent well wishes to Nivea following the news.

"One of the most beautiful souls ever. Praying for healing and restoration ❤️‍🩹 🙏🏽🥺," one person commented.

"Praying for her full healing. Those men wrecked her self esteem and confidence but this is a blessing in disguise bc it's pushing her back into music, where she can heal. God is good and very mysterious. Prayers!," another person wrote.

"nivea always seemed unbreakable on those old tracks but this one hits different knowing shes facing leukemia head on with that same direct stare in the photo. real ones pull through stuff like this," someone posted.

Nivea was one of the most popular voices in early 2000s R&B, coming out with hits including “Don’t Mess With My Man,” “Laundromat” and “Okay.” Specifically, “Don’t Mess With My Man” made it into the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, also earning a Grammy nomination.
