Red Sox fans might have scoffed if they had been told the 2026 team would be the one to go on a surge such as this. Boston fired manager Alex Cora on April 25 after starting the season a sluggish 10-17, putting Chad Tracy in the interim role in his place.

That was the same day Garrett Crochet last appeared in a Red Sox uniform before being put on the shelf with a left shoulder injury, later suffering a lat injury on top of it. Budding star outfielder Roman Anthony hasn’t played since May 4 as he recovers from a torn ligament and partially torn tendon in his right ring finger and wrist.

On June 24, the Red Sox held the worst record in the American League at 32-46. Since then, they’ve gone 20-2 and now hold the fifth-best record in the AL at 52-48.

The Fenway faithful have guys like Caleb Durbin and Willson Contreras to thank for their recent turnaround.

Durbin has improved upon a dreadful start that led him to a .479 OPS on May 24. Contreras is fifth in MLB with a .941 OPS.

Trump holds hands with toddler and mocks 'Pee-wee' Jon Ossoff at Georgia Trump Accounts rally

WASHINGTON — President Trump showed a gentler side Wednesday as he held a young boy’s hand and accepted a handmade bracelet from a girl while promoting “Trump Accounts” in Georgia — before veering into mocking home-state Sen. Jon Ossoff as “a Pee-wee Herman look-alike.” Three-year-old Ray Loden reached his hand out toward Trump as his father, Cole, a data center construction project manager, praised the president for signing into law the...

Congressman exposed true foolishness of Smithsonian — and America’s woke reckoning — with one hilarious question

During a Capitol Hill hearing Tuesday, Rep. Brandon Gill and his Republican colleagues skillfully exposed much of the institutional woke rot embedded in the nooks and crannies of the Smithsonian. In a particularly revelatory exchange with National Museum of American History Director Anthea Hartig — there to defend what the White House Domestic Policy Council called the Smithsonian’s “radical, activist ideology” — Gill posed a simple question...

Fury as Dems unleash 'rigging' plot to kill voter ID in California: 'Blatant manipulation'

California’s Democrat Attorney-General has been accused of making a dishonest, last minute attempt to thwart a state voter ID proposal going to voters in the fall, leading to allegations of election rigging. The backers of Proposition 39, which would require voters to provide government ID at the polls or the last four digits of a ID number if voting by mail, claim that Attorney General Rob Bonta changed the ballot measure’s description in a...
