Longtime ESPN announcer Karl Ravech is expected to be out at the company after more than 30 years.
ESPN and Disney are undergoing layoffs this week. ESPN NFL analyst Ryan Clark was the first big name let go on Monday. Clark, a former NFL defensive back turned sports media personality, was reportedly making around $2 million per year. He was let go during the middle of Monday's "NFL Live" episode.
Now, on Tuesday, the layoffs are continuing. Ravech, best known for ESPN's baseball coverage, is the next big name to be ousted. Ravech had worked for the Worldwide Leader in Sports for 33 years.
The Athletic's Andrew Marchand first reported the news of Ravech's layoff on Tuesday morning, July 21.
The 61-year-old Ravech has worked as the lead play-by-play voice on ESPN’s Major League Baseball coverage, hosted “Baseball Tonight,” done college basketball broadcasts, "SportsCenter" and more.

Ravech is expected to be the biggest on-air personality let go by ESPN on Tuesday, according to the report, though more are coming.
"While Ravech is the biggest-name on-air personality expected to be let go, the most severe layoffs are expected behind the scenes at NFL Network. ESPN officially purchased the network in late January in a series of agreements with the NFL that gave the league a 10 percent stake in ESPN. ESPN has spent the past six months sorting out how to make all the pieces from its bases in Bristol and New York coordinate with NFL Network’s Los Angeles operation," Marchand reported.
"ESPN’s parent company, Disney, is also expected to conduct a round of layoffs."
