Over the last few days, Solo Leveling has carved out a place for itself among the biggest stories in the world, and much of that is down to the TV Anime for it by A-1 Pictures and Aniplex studios. With Solo Leveling getting bigger with each passing year, it is no surprise to know that many new releases are planned for it. At Anime Expo 2026, Solo Leveling unsurprisingly stole the attention with the announcement of some huge projects. For one, it’s finally been officially revealed that a Solo Leveling movie is in the works, titled Solo Leveling: Beyond the System. Furthermore, we have received new information regarding Solo Leveling’s biggest 2026 project — Solo Leveling: Karma as well.
Karma might have been overshadowed by the new movie reveal, but needless to say, it’s going to be massive for the franchise as a whole, as it officially reveals the Final Arc of Solo Leveling — the 27 Year Monarch War, which was previously glossed over. This arc has been highly anticipated by the fans, and finally, we’re getting a full look at it through Chugong’s own work after 8 years.
Solo Leveling Is Finally Getting a True Final Arc After 8 Years With ‘Solo Leveling: Karma’
In South Korea, Solo Leveling has been the most iconic web novel and manhwa for quite a while. The Solo Leveling story was first released in 2016, and its novel became so popular that it was eventually adapted into a Manhwa in 2018. This new manhwa adaptation was what made Solo Leveling global and established a niche fanbase for it all over the world. In 2024, the franchise finally went on to get its long-awaited TV anime adaptation that would bring the IP global fame.
2026 might seem like quite an underwhelming year for Solo Leveling so far, especially since it's now confirmed that we’re not getting any new animated content until 2027. The Manhwa for Solo Leveling: Ragnarok is also currently on break, with no confirmed return date. But there are still things to look forward to. Solo Leveling Karma is officially coming this year, and this new video game by Netmarble Studio is about to be a hit.
When the game was first revealed in November 2025, we were given a sneak peek of what’s to come. It was also revealed to us that the game would cover the 27 Year Monarch War. More recently, on July 5, 2026, Solo Leveling Karma went on to hold an event stage during America’s biggest anime event, Anime Expo 2026. During this stage, we would get to learn a whole lot more about the upcoming game through a Q&A event. Thanks to information officially confirmed at the event, we know that Solo Leveling Karma is canon to the original storyline, as it is confirmed to have direct involvement from Chugong himself. With that in mind, the 27 Year Monarch war that’s being made is set to act as the true final arc to the story that Chugong left under the wraps 8 years ago, when he concluded his story’s epilogue in 2018 after Jinwoo defeated his final enemy, Antares.
What Solo Leveling’s New Final Arc Is Going To Be About
Fans of Solo Leveling who have read the web novel, or the Manhwa, are well aware of the whole concept surrounding the 27 Year Monarch War of the story. The 27 Year Monarch War is first revealed at the end of the story, during the epilogue that ensues following the last clash against Antares, which unfolded in Solo Leveling Manhwa chapter 177. In this chapter, Jinwoo makes one last request of the Rulers. To prevent some of the mistakes he made and save lives, Jinwoo asks them to use the Cup of Reincarnation to turn back time once more. The Cup of Reincarnation allows him to undo everything that had happened so far and to turn back into a teenager. From there, with his own memories intact, he undergoes a grueling challenge back from the beginning, which ensures everyone who died survives this time around.
The epilogue of Solo Leveling ensues in two chapters after that, officially being tackled in chapters 178 and 179. In these two chapters, we see a glimpse of the 27 Year Monarch War. The author specifically mentions Jinwoo fighting Yogumunt, the Monarch of Transfiguration, before he takes on the final enemy, Antares, again.
“This empty world that has nothing but endless darkness feels extremely lonely if there isn’t any fighting. I won my fight against the monarchs, and killed the Monarch of Transfiguration, who was at the core of everything. And so… it’s been 27 years since I entered the dimensional crack. It looks like the long and dreary fight is finally coming to an end soon. The only remaining enemies are the Dragon Emperor and his direct soldiers, The Brigade of Destruction. Meeting everyone again after 2 years, I wonder how father and mother are doing? How much would Jinah have changed? Should I wait for her to grow up more before I explain what happened to her?” — Sung Jinwoo’s inner monologue in Solo Leveling Chapter 178
To the surprise of nobody, Jinwoo was up to the task and won this war yet again, despite having to undertake it all alone this time around, and with some of his Shadows now gone. Jinwoo still achieves all of this in the dimensional crack, which he entered alone. There, he spent 27 years alone and managed to achieve tremendous things. Time flows differently in the crack, so in the real world, only two years pass. Jinwoo is only able to return to the real world after the War wraps up. Upon his return, Jinwoo tries to live a normal life, marrying Cha Hae-In, and finally settling down after years of loneliness that came with saving the whole world.
While this epilogue was brilliant, it was very brief and only skimmed over the small details of the story, such as Jinwoo’s two last battles against Yogumunt and Antares. Everything else is left up to interpretation. 27 years is a long time, and we’re all curious to know how Jinwoo leveled up back to his peak, and how he killed every Monarch. We’re also curious to see how the Monarchs, with their prep time and knowledge, acted differently this time around. All this is finally set to be explored in the new arc in Solo Leveling Karna, which is officially expanding upon the entire war under the guidance of Chugong himself.
Everything We Know About Solo Leveling: Karma So Far
Solo Leveling Karma’s production seems to be going smoothly, and while there is still a lot we don’t know about this game, key bits of information have been revealed in November 2025 and more recently, at Anime Expo 2026. For one, we know the game will be available to play on PC, iOS, and Android. Whether the game will be released on more platforms after is to be determined. Of course, we also know this game has a release window of 2026. The exact release date, however, has not been revealed yet. That said, new information could be released soon, since the year is halfway done.
During the stage on July 5, 2026, a new trailer for the game was also revealed, which showcased the gameplay of Karma. New visuals were also unveiled, which featured Jinwoo, as well as some well-known characters, like Cha Hae-In, and other new characters, like a mysterious woman or a new villain, known as Nemir.

We have also been made aware of some new plot points of the story. Sung Jinwoo’s main enemy, Antares, has kept all his memories from before the time rewind. He also makes use of corrupted versions of Jinwoo’s closest friends and family members to fight against him. All this and more will be explored finally in Solo Leveling: Karma, which is set to be released later this year.
