KVOA News 4 Tucson has reported on a disturbing attack and home invasion that happened in Tucson, Arizona. The outlet revealed that, according to the Pima County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded to a home after 2:40 a.m. on July 21, 2026, following a reported assault.
After an intruder reportedly invaded the home through an unlocked door, they physically and sexually assaulted the victim. They then attempted to burglarize the home before leaving alone.
According to the outlet, the house where the attack happened is located in the 12,000 block of West Vegas Drive, near Taylor Lane and Ajo Way. An X post from Fox News Digital's true crime reporter Michael Ruiz noted how close the house where the attack took place is to Nancy Guthrie's home. The reporter noted that the victim of the July attack "lives about 30 miles from Nancy Guthrie’s home on the other side of Tucson."
KVOA News 4 Tucson's report noted that the suspect in the July 21 attack had not been caught, and there is no indication that has changed. The outlet noted that the suspect was described as a white or Hispanic man with a thin build, standing at roughly 5'10" tall. The suspect was also described as having gray in their beard and wearing an oversized green shirt.
The authorities are asking residents in the area to review any home or neighborhood surveillance footage they may have from the night of the attack. They note that if footage of the suspect exists, it could be crucial to the case. Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
What Sheriff Nanos Said About the New Home Invasion
In the same X post in which he detailed how close the attack took place to Nancy Guthrie's home, Fox News Digital's true crime reporter Michael Ruiz gave an update on the case. He noted that Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos made a brief statement to him to clarify that they see no reason to link the investigation into the new attack to the Guthrie case. The Sheriff told Ruiz that there is "nothing to indicate the cases are related."
