Confirming rumors that have been swirling for a few months, Xbox has officially announced that several original Xbox games are now available on PC and the ROG Xbox Ally X/Xbox Ally through the Xbox Store.
The first round of titles includes Blinx: The Time Sweeper, Conker: Live and Reloaded, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, and, of course, party gaming classic Fuzion Frenzy (I will forever tell people that it's actually a really fun game, despite the awful reviews it received in 2001). Overall, the launch lineup is an interesting array of Xbox exclusive titles and launch titles for the 2001 console.
Microsoft says that all of its ported original Xbox titles will offer new visual settings and features like 4x resolution upscaling, VSync, full-screen/windowed modes, anisotropic filtering, enhanced anti-aliasing, "and more." For now, we don't know what "more" means, but it could hint that at least some original Xbox titles will get new gameplay features. It's worth noting that you'll need to be a Windows 11 user for these classic titles to run on your PC, according to Xbox's minimum specs sheet for the retro titles.
"Your library is more than just a collection of games," said Jason Ronald, Vice President of next generation at Xbox, in a recent statement. "It is your personal history of epic stories and treasured memories from the past. And as players, we don't want to leave our gaming legacy behind even as technology continues to evolve and advance. We expect our library of games to move forward with us and to be able to play them in entirely new ways."

According to Microsoft, all you need to do is boot up the Xbox app on PC, buy one of these titles, and start playing it. Additionally, the company says that if you already own the game on console, you won't need to buy it again. If you already own a digital copy of the game, you won't need to purchase it again to play on PC.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to transfer physical ownership, which is a bummer since I definitely have copies of Conker: Live and Reloaded, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, and Fusion Frenzy buried in a storage locker. Thankfully, all the titles are part of Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass plans.
It's likely that as Microsoft gears up to launch Project Helix, its PC-console hybrid device, we'll see Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X game compatibility make its way to PC in some form (games for the newer two consoles will likely be exclusive to Project Helix in some way).
