Section V track results at state championships

Track and field athletes completed their season-long push toward high school state championships June 13-14 at Webster Schroeder.

Here is how some of the sprinters, jumpers, hurdlers, distance runners and throwers from Section V schools fared at the two-day meet.

Claire LaShomb, 7th-grader at Fairport

• Won the Federation and Class A girls 100-meter wheelchair championship race, 20.47 seconds.
• Won the Federation and Class A girls 400-meter wheelchair championship race, 1 minute, 8.89 seconds, a Section V record despite no other contestants.
• Won the Federation and Class A girls 800-meter wheelchair race, 2:23.69. This was uncontested.
• Won the Federation and Class A girls 1,500-meter wheelchair race, 4:31.99. This was uncontested.

Boys 100-meter dash

• Noah Collins-Howard (Rush-Henrietta): Won Class A heat, 10.81 seconds, advanced to final. Second place NYSPHSAA Class A final, 10.78 seconds, advanced. Eighth place Federation, 10.91 seconds.
• Evan Clarcq (Gananda): Fifth place in Class C heat, 11.15 seconds, advanced to final. Eighth place NYSPHSAA Class C final, 11.35 seconds, did not advance to Federation race.
• Luis Falu (Monroe): Third place in Class B heat, 10.85 seconds, advanced to final. Third place NYSPHSAA Class B final, 10.83 seconds, advanced. Seventh place Federation, 10.90 seconds.

Girls 100-meter dash
