Sean Bean's hit new fantasy TV show gets a major season 2 update.
Bean's MGM+ action-adventure drama Robin Hoodhas been given a major update for season 2, confirming new cast members and more information about when the show will return. The Robin Hood series follows the exploits of its titular character, Robin Hood (Jack Patten), as he and a band of outlaws fight against English government corruption in the Middle Ages. Bean portrays the Sheriff of Nottingham, who attempts to hunt Robin and his crew down in order to maintain the status quo. Season 2 was confirmed in February 2026.
According to Deadline, production on Robin Hoodseason 2 has begun in Serbia, with the drama adding a number of important cast members to its fold. Joining the cast are James Purefoy, Colin O'Donoghue, and Luke Roberts, all of whom will have main roles in the series going forward. Purefoy will portray King Henry, O'Donoghue takes on the role of Prince Richard, and Luke Roberts arrives as Amaury D’Montfort. Each of them will have an important part to play in how the events of season 2 are shaped.
A description for Robin Hood season 2 confirms King Henry's actions will be the catalyst for what happens next, with England, France, and Rome having key roles to play as the story expands.
