The Seattle Seahawks appear poised to contend for back-to-back Super Bowl titles in 2026 with a re-tooled roster and coaching structure in place for the upcoming season.
According to Sports Illustrated’s Conor Orr, the Seahawks are one of 14 teams in the NFL that have a legitimate chance to win the Super Bowl next season.
“The Seahawks have run-it-back potential for one main reason: I think Mike Macdonald learned a very important early lesson about choosing the right offensive coordinator after a disappointing 2024 season with Ryan Grubb,” Orr said. “The Seahawks spent the offseason strengthening their strengths, adding key depth at the running back position with Jadarian Price in the first round of the draft before pivoting to safety.”
Brian Fleury figures to service the Seahawks well in 2026 as their new offensive coordinator, with years of experience in the San Francisco 49ers’ coaching ranks across several positions.
Roster wise, the Seahawks had the overwhelming defense and the high-powered offense to come out on top in the race for the Vince Lombardi Trophy last season. However, next season, the Seahawks will look to rookie running back Jadarian Price to make up for Kenneth Walker’s departure in free agency, and Rashid Shaheed to step up as the WR2 in Seattle.
The secondary is also an area that Seattle will need rookie performers to play well in, but in all, the Seahawks did a great job of making the necessary moves in the open market and the draft to put together another legitimate contender for next season.
