Two suspects were arrested in connection with a shooting that left two people hospitalized in San Bernardino County.

On July 19, Colton police were called to reports of a shooting at a residence in the 1100 block of North Rancho Avenue in Colton around 2:20 a.m.

Officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds at the scene. They were taken to the hospital for treatment. The shooter fled the scene before police arrived.

Detectives later identified the suspect as Quetzalcoat Chacon, 26, of San Bernardino. On July 21, he was located and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The second suspect, Serina Mota, 27, of Colton, was arrested for being an accessory. She was accused of knowingly helping Chacon avoid arrest following the shooting.

Chacon and Mota were transported to the West Valley Detention Center, where they were booked on the above charges.

The two victims were only identified as a 21-year-old man and a 40-year-old man. No further details, including a motive or how the suspects and victims may be known to each other, were released.
