First Chris Brown, then Ye, now Marilyn Manson. San Antonio continues to welcome controversial musical stars with the shock rocker's two-night engagement at downtown’s Aztec Theatre, October 17 and 18.

The shows are part of a small-venue tour marking the 30th anniversary of Antichrist Superstar, Manson’s 1996 album that spawned hits like “The Beautiful People.” The record and its accompanying Dead to the World Tour became a lightning rod of criticism from the Christian right, even sparking a congressional hearing.

According to more than a dozen women, his monstrous image was no mere act. After actress Evan Rachel Wood came forward with abuse and grooming allegations in 2021, more accusations were brought to light, and the singer was dropped by his label.

Although never criminally charged, Manson has remained persona non grata with many former fans. Most recently, his 2025 UK tour opener was canceled due to outrage from politicians and the general public.

The furor is likely to have little effect on San Antonio ticket-buyers. Despite his history of antisemitic statements, alliances with white nationalists, and opposition from Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones, Ye’s surprise July 4th set at the Alamodome was filled with over 60,000 fans.

Chris Brown packs houses despite assaulting Rihanna before the 2009 Grammys. His October tour with Usher has drawn little of the institutional ire that accompanied the Ye show.

Presales for the Manson show will be live at 10 am on July 22 with code: ACSS30, and general admission tickets launch July 24. In addition to San Antonio, he will perform at Austin’s Emo’s on October 21 and 22.
