We already got our first look at Samsung and Google’s upcoming intelligent eyewear during Google I/O 2026 in May. But today, during the Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung is giving us a closer look at the new product, which aims to bring digital experiences closer to users throughout the day.

The Samsung smart glasses are developed in partnership with Google, Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. They were first teased during Google I/O 2026, but now, Samsung and Google reveal two additional frame designs.
Users can choose from a range of frame styles, color options, and even lens solutions, offering advanced personalization for different lifestyles. For instance, the Gentle Monster edition packs a slim frame in black, while the Warby Parker style features a rich brown hue and a subtly upswept brow line.

Samsung's new intelligent eyewear brings AI directly into the user's field of view, offering a new way to stay informed and access assistance without stepping away from the real world. The wearable also includes built-in controls and safeguards to make interactions safer and more seamless.
But what do the intelligent glasses actually do? For instance, they can summarize long messages with Gemini, help users communicate in different languages through live translation, and read information aloud.
Using the built-in camera, users can also capture the moment or ask for guidance based on their location, set destinations and better understand their surroundings. The device also stands out with context-aware assistance, meaning it remembers previous interactions and provides more relevant responses with less repetition.
Last but not least, the intelligent new wearable supports live visual sharing. For instance, when you're taking a video call, you can record your point of view, making the communication feel more direct.

At first glance, this device shares many of the same core ideas as Meta's smart glasses. Both focus on hands-free AI, visual understanding, live translation, and capturing moments from the user's perspective.
So, why should you consider this intelligent eyewear instead of getting the established Meta AI glasses? Based on what Samsung has shown so far, the main difference isn’t the hardware itself (or the features, for that matter), but rather how tightly the glasses integrate with the broader Galaxy ecosystem and Google's Gemini AI.
Meanwhile, Meta's smart glasses may be the more compelling option for users who haven’t already joined Samsung's ecosystem or simply want a platform-agnostic AI wearable.
