The Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 has arrived and it’s hauling some improvements that focus in on more accurate health tracking, but also a variety of specs improvements that will help users get the most out of their smartwatch. Much like the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, a bigger battery is one of the focal points of spec improvements, with Samsung highlighting that the Galaxy Watch 9 now comes with a battery that’s 20% larger than the Galaxy Watch 8 at 390mAh.
Of course, a larger battery isn’t the only improvement that users can expect. The Galaxy Watch 9 also comes with a Snapdragon Wear Elite Platform for the chipset inside, and this is a significant step up from the previous chipset Samsung was using, which was the Exynos W1000.
For the display, the specs on the Galaxy Watch 9 are the same as the Galaxy Watch 8. Samsung has chosen to stick with the 1.34-inch screen size for the 40mm model and 1.47 inches for the 44mm model. Display brightness is also the same at a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.

Starting at $379.99
The Galaxy Watch 9 is going to start at $379.99, and this will be the price for the 40mm model with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity only. Samsung will also be offering a 44mm model for a larger display size, and it will be offering LTE models of both the 40mm and 44mm sizes for those who want the capability to use data features without the need to have a connected smartphone on them at all times.
If you like the smaller size watch but you want the LTE connectivity, then you’re looking at $429.99 for the step up there. For the 44mm model, the Bluetooth connectivity option starts at $409.99, and goes up to $459.99 if you want to move from Bluetooth to LTE. All of these prices are a bit higher than last year’s Galaxy Watch 8, which started at $349.99 when it launched last Summer.
