Ryder Cup nets Stripe as top-tier partner for 2027 and 2029 editions

Stripe becomes the sixth top-tier Ryder Cup worldwide partner to join the tournament.

Ryder Cup Europe and the PGA of America, organizers of golf’s biennial Ryder Cup men’s teams tournament, have announced multinational financial services platform Stripe as a worldwide partner for the 2027 and 2029 editions.

Under the agreement, Stripe becomes the official payment solutions partner for the flagship tournament, contested between Team Europe and Team USA, with the next Ryder Cup in 2027 to be held at Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland.

Hosting duties alternate between Europe and the US, and the 2029 edition is set for Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota. The 2031 edition, meanwhile, will return to Europe to be hosted by Camiral in Catalonia, Spain.

As part of the partnership, Stripe will integrate its payment system for all tournament sales, with online ticket sales and hospitality packages to be available through a single checkout experience, with Stripe Link offering fans a one-click option and local payment methods for international fans.

On site, Stripe Terminal will be available for payments across food and beverage, merchandise and retail.

The deal builds on Stripe’s existing partnership with the PGA of America to modernize the governing body’s financial infrastructure and accelerate its digital transformation, signed in 2023.

It also adds to the Ryder Cup’s growing slate of top-tier partners, having secured sustainable packaging manufacturer Smurfit Westrock as a global partner in March covering the 2027, 2029, and 2031 editions.

Other worldwide partners of the Ryder Cup include logistics business DP World, energy company Aon, watch brand Rolex, automobile manufacturer BMW, banking firm Citi, and IT consultancy Capgemini.

Ryder Cup Europe, a joint venture between European Tour Group, the PGA of Great Britain and Ireland, and the Confederation of Professional Golf, manages the European Team and holds the rights to the tournament whenever it is hosted in European editions, while the PGA of America manages the US Team and tournaments held in the country.

Guy Kinnings, chief executive at the European Tour group, said: “The Ryder Cup has grown to become one of the biggest events in global sport.

“The ticketing, merchandise and catering operations are significant, with over 70,000-square-feet of merchandise space alone at the 2025 match in New York.

“Stripe’s technology platforms will help us to deliver a cashless experience in Ireland with increased speed and convenience for our fans around the world.”

After the British Open, Rory McIlroy admitted something no PGA Tour executive wants to hear. The Northern Irishman, 37, agreed that the PGA Tour and the FedEx Cup don’t get his juices going as much as they once did. “I think it just sort of ebbs and flows,” McIlroy said after being asked about his interest in the two. “There’s been years where I’ve given [the PGA Tour] maybe more of my attention and years that I haven’t. Yeah, I guess I’m just...
