Rosie O’Donnell had a few special guests join her at the opening night of her one-woman show.
On Tuesday, July 21, the actress, 64, gave her first performance of Common Knowledge at The Daryl Roth Theatre in New York City, with a few of her kids in the audience to support her. Following the show, O’Donnell’s daughter Vivienne, 23, her son Blake, 26, and his wife Teresa visited the actress backstage and posed for a few photos together.
O’Donnell’s siblings Edward and Timothy also appeared at the show in support of their sister. The actress’s other kids, Parker, 31, and Clay, 13, did not appear in any photos. Her daughter Chelsea, 28, is currently serving an 18-month prison sentence in Wisconsin for drug possession. O’Donnell has visited her in recent months.
The comedian’s one-woman show explores her experience of being a mother without her own mom.
Speaking to PEOPLE as this week’s cover star, O’Donnell opened up about her life as a mom, revealing that “all I wanted my whole life was to have a bunch of kids.”
“I would have had more, but five already is a lot, and I didn’t know that when I was adopting children in my 30s,” she shares.

“People sometimes say, ‘That’s so great of you that you adopted. You saved those kids.’ And I say, ‘No, no, no. Those kids saved me,’ “ she continues.
“It was like each kid was like a swimmy, like I was putting in them on and I was staying afloat because of my love for them and my desire to give them a nice, beautiful, loving family that said I love you, which was never said in my house, and hugged and my kids now, when I see them and I’m leaving, I go, ‘I love you.’”
O’Donnell’s family recently grew with the birth of her son Blake’s first baby.
Blake and Teresa shared that they were expecting in September 2025, one year after they tied the knot in an intimate New Jersey ceremony.
“Our lives are about to get a whole lot sunnier💛🌻,” the couple wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of a onesie that read “Baby O’Donnell March 2026.”
Five months later, the former The View host announced that her fifth grandson had finally arrived.
“Anthony Joel O’Donnell has arrived! And my heart burst open,” O’Donnell captioned a black-and-white photo of her grandson’s foot in the hospital. “Congratulations to mama Teresa n Blake Christopher — I love u so ❤️❤️❤️.”
In April, O’Donnell gave her followers a glimpse into the moment she met her newborn grandson for the first time.
“Best day ever,” she wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of herself holding Anthony in her arms while sitting on the couch wearing a face mask. “Met my grandson Anthony. Truly a beautiful child.“
