EXCLUSIVE: Rory Scovel has announced a new Netflix special, Show Must Go On, that is set to premiere globally on Tuesday, August 11.
Scovel returns to Netflix with a new hour for the first time since 2017’s Rory Scovel Tries Stand-Up for the First Time. No word yet on what he discusses in his new hour, but we hear he shot it at The Neptune in Seattle, Washington.
Show Must Go On is directed by Scott Moran. Producers include Scovel, Alex Bach and Daniel Powell of Irony Point, Molly Mandel and Matt Schuler.
Other past specials from the South Carolina-born Scovel include The Charleston Special (2015), Live Without Fear (2021) and Religion, Sex, and a Few Things In Between (2024) for Max. The comic also has myriad credits as an actor, including HBO’s Rooster, Apple TV’s Physical and Damien Chazelle’s Babylon. He appears in a recent episode of Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: An Almost History of America, the HBO Max comedy from Larry David and Jeff Schaffer, and will be seen coming up in Amazon MGM’s Will Ferrell/Zac Efron comedy Judgment Day from Nicholas Stoller.
Previously, Scovel co-created and starred in his own Comedy Central series, Robbie. He also wrote on The Eric Andre Show for multiple seasons and is repped by Mosaic, UTA, and Schreck Rose Dapello.
