River Oaks Theatre to host free 24-hour screening of Mary Ellen Carroll's 'Federal'

River Oaks Theatre and the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston are collaborating to present a free 24-hour screening of New York artist Mary Ellen Carroll's "Federal" overnight. 

The screening of the 2003 film "Federal," a 24-hour film of the north and south facades of the Federal Building in Los Angeles, will be shown in both upstairs auditoriums at River Oaks Theatre - beginning at 9 a.m. on Aug. 25. The screening is in conjunction with Carroll's exhibition, "How To Talk Dirty and Influence People," at the museum, according to its website.

This will be a free event. However, people are encouraged to RSVP ahead of time because seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, the museum's website states.

Limited food and beverage service will be available throughout the 24-hour program.

The movie was made in 2003 and shows two sides of the Federal Building in Los Angeles over the course of one day. Carroll will be present for the duration of the screening.
