Ricki Lake is opening up about why she decided to get a facelift two years ago, and why she is still “so grateful” she opted to have the cosmetic procedure.
The 57-year-old former talk show host posted pictures on Instagram July 18 to mark two years since her facelift. The post included multiple before-and-after photos, as well as snaps from consultations with her plastic surgeon and a few selfies showing off the results.
“Happy 2 year anniversary to me,” she began in the caption. “Yes, 2 years ago today, I had a face lift. Specifically, for those wondering, I had a deep plane lower face and neck lift along with a mild co2 laser.”
She thanked her “incredibly talented and kind surgeon” Dr. Allen Foulad for his work.
Lake said she had a great experience with her doctor and that she is still satisfied with her results, calling them “remarkable, natural, and long-lasting.”
The Emmy-winner then explained why she chose to have the surgery.
“Back in 2023, I had lost 40 lbs over the course of a year, and did not like the extra skin that hung from below my chin. It was never going to tighten up by itself,” she wrote.
Lake continued, “I took a leap of faith and I’m so grateful I did. I am also very glad to see so many people over these past couple of years opening up about their own plastic surgery journeys.”
She added that the final two snaps in the post were taken recently and didn’t include a filter or any makeup.
Celebrity friends applauded her honesty and results in the comments.
Rosie O’Donnell, who revealed in May she also had a facelift, wrote, “Thank u ricki,” and included three red hearts. She added, “I did mine cause of u n our galpals.”
Trisha Yearwood complimented Lake, writing, “Stunning inside and out!”
Jennie Garth similarly said, “Pretty lady inside and out.”
Lake previously revealed she had a facelift when she appeared as a guest on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” in June 2025.
When host Andy Cohen gushed about her appearance, Lake thanked him and said, “I kind of think it’s the best facelift I’ve ever seen.”
She gave her doctor a shout out and said she has referred friends to him.
“You can’t see nothing. It’s amazing,” she marveled.
“I love that I can talk about it. I’m fully transparent, always have been,” she said. “I don’t want there to be any stigma. This was something that was bothering me. I lost a lot of weight and I had this sort of thing hanging. And I had it fixed.”
Lake has frequently spoken about her weight loss journey throughout the years. In 2024, she shared that she and husband Ross Burningham both decided to lose weight and switch to “healthier” lifestyles.
