Ricki Lake is celebrating the two-year anniversary of her facelift by sharing candid before-and-after photos and reflecting on why she chose to undergo the procedure.
The 57-year-old actress and former talk show host posted a carousel on Instagram on July 18 featuring images taken before and after her surgery, along with recent makeup-free selfies. Lake said she underwent a deep-plane lower face and neck lift combined with a mild CO2 laser treatment in July 2024.
"Happy 2 year anniversary to me," Lake wrote. "Yes, 2 years ago today, I had a face lift."
Lake credited Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Allen Foulad with performing the procedure, describing her results as "remarkable, natural, and long-lasting."
The "Hairspray" actress explained that she decided to have the surgery after losing 40 pounds over the course of a year in 2023. Although she was pleased with her weight loss, she said she was unhappy with the loose skin left beneath her chin.
"It was never going to tighten up by itself," Lake wrote. "I took a leap of faith and I'm so grateful I did."
Lake also said she was encouraged to see more people speaking publicly about their cosmetic procedures. She concluded the post with hashtags including "#Transparency," "#SelfLove," "#PlasticSurgery," "#ThisIs57" and "#Grateful."
The television personality has previously discussed the facelift publicly. During a June 2025 appearance on "Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen" — a separate occasion from this week's Instagram post — Lake jokingly called her result "the best facelift I've ever seen."
"I love that I can talk about it," she said at the time. "I'm fully transparent, always have been. I don't want there to be any stigma."
Lake also marked the procedure's first anniversary in 2025, calling it "one of the best decisions I ever made for myself."
Her latest post included photographs from different stages of the process, including pre-surgery images, pictures with Foulad and current unfiltered selfies. Lake said she remains satisfied with the results two years later and has no regrets about making the procedure public.
