His deal includes a coveted no-tag clause, giving him substantial leverage. Entering free agency in 2028 at 31 years old could be an appealing alternative for him instead of signing an early extension. While Minter’s new coaching staff wishes to demonstrate strong commitment to their quarterback, Jackson must decide if he truly wants to commit his long-term future to the organization at this time.
