The Minnesota Vikings clawed their way to a winning record in 2025, finishing the year 9-8 after winning five in a row to close out the season. This offseason, the roster underwent a good amount of turnover, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Now that the dust has seemingly settled, let's take a look at how each position group ranks, from worst to best.

The bottom three were no-brainers. This running back room is *fine* as it stands, but banking on potential with Demond Claiborne. Losing Harrison Smith is a huge blow to this safety room, with no real replacement as of now. Defensive tackle has immense upside, but we need to see how the rookies pan out.
This is a fairly average tight end room, but the floor is higher than others around the league. Kyler Murray raises this group from 10 up to 6, as we also wait on potential there. The cornerback room looked better as the season went along, and it will be interesting to see how they develop this offseason.
Dallas Turner's upside has the defensive ends at spot four, but not having a true running mate is a bit of a concern. This linebacker group was very solid last season, and now with the inclusion of Jake Golday, there is youth and speed in the room. Losing Ryan Kelly hurts, but a pair of strong tackles and a left guard who played better than most rookies elevate the room.
Any wide receiver room with Justin Jefferson is immediately going to be top three on most rosters. Now, you take into consideration Jordan Addison and Jauan Jennings, and this is by far the best position group on the Minnesota Vikings heading into 2026.
