Ralph Ineson (pictured above in The Witch), Corey Stoll (The Strain), and Nyasha Hatendi (Agatha Christie’s The Seven Dials) have joined the cast of Legendary’s Monsterverse series for Apple TV, reports Deadline.

Details on who they’ll play remain a mystery.

They join previously cast  Millie Brady (The Last Kingdom), Pilou Asbaek (Overlord) and Wyatt Russell (also executive producing), who returns as Young Lee Shaw, a character that originated in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. Russell played the younger version of his father, Kurt Russell.

Of course, Ineson is well known by horror fans at this point. The powerful actor wowed audiences with his role in The Witch. He’s also appeared in The First Omen, Frankenstein, and Nosferatu, to name a few.

As for Stoll, some of you will most definitely recognize him as M.O.D.O.K. from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. He also appeared in over forty episodes of Guillermo del Toro’s The Strain (pictured below).

I’m less familiar with Hatendi, though he did appear in an episode of Hulu’s Into the Dark, as well as provide voice work for Mass Effect: Andromeda.

JD Dillard (Sweetheart) has been tapped to direct the pilot episode of the new series, with Joby Harold showrunning.

The series “follows the story of Colonel Lee Shaw (Russell), an American operative who, in 1984, went on a secret mission behind enemy lines in an attempt to stop the Soviets from unleashing a horrific new Titan big enough to destroy the U.S. and turn the tide of the Cold War.”

As for “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters”, the show is an expansion of the Monsterverse revolving around everyone’s favorite Kaiju (it’s me, I’m everyone), Godzilla and King Kong, that Legendary kicked off with their 2014 Godzilla film. Next up in the film series is Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, which is set to release sometime in 2027.

Executive producers are Harold and Tory Tunnell for Safehouse Pictures, alongside Russell, Chris Black, Kyle Bradstreet, Alex Boden, and Dillard, with Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita executive producing for Toho Co., Ltd.

The outlet notes that Harold and Tunnell are developing multiple new series set within the Monsterverse for Apple TV that feature both new and fan-favorite Titans.

You can stream seasons 1 and 2 of “Monarch” on Apple TV now.
