National Rail says cancellations between Southend Victoria and Wickford are expected until 10:00 BST.

Rail services between Southend Victoria and Wickford have been cancelled after a person was hit by a train.

The incident has led to disruption in Essex on the London to Southend Victoria line and minor disruption to trains on the London to Braintree line.

National Rail said the incident happened at about 07:50 BST.

It added that all lines between the stations would be closed until about 10:00 while emergency services worked at the scene.
