Over the years, America's Got Talent has certainly boosted the careers of a number of breakout musicians, and it looks like one of the biggest Acts of Season 21 just might be the final performer to audition!
Pynk Beard, leader of his eponymous band, just debuted a new song that will instantly be stuck in your head — and with good reason. It's a catchy country tune that deserves a spot on the charts.

"My mom tells me that I was 3 years old when I wrote my first song. I don’t remember that. The first song I remember writing I was five. And it was called 'God Is My Inspiration,'" he reflected backstage, easily distinguishable thanks to his bright pink beard. Reflecting on his long journey through the music industry, he explained, "I tried to be an artist. It didn’t work out. They didn’t quite understand Black people doing country at the time, so I gave up on the idea of putting out an album of my own. I just really pursued being a songwriter. One of my main questions I always ask is ‘Who are you?’ I always spend a lot of time talking to artists about just who they are, and over time I think I just kind of forgot who I was and I became just ‘a songwriter.’”
Why Pynk Beard stepped onto the stage this year
Timing's a funny thing.
"Just last year, 2025, I was actually about to literally quit making music. I was like, 'I can’t keep doing this, I’m getting too old. This is a young man’s game.' And just as I’m getting ready to quit, I hear about an opportunity like this, and it sparked doing [music] again. Normally when I get ready to quit, something magic happens. I’m getting ready to try my hand at a little magic," Pynk Beard explained of his decision to audition for AGT.
Taking the stage, he told Judges Howie Mandel, Mel B, Simon Cowell, and Sofía Vergara, "I’m a singer-songwriter from Birmingham, Alabama. This is what I do full time. I’ve been writing songs for a long time," using Alessia Cara's "Scars To Your Beautiful" as an example of his success as a songwriter. That certainly got their attention. "I’m here because I’ve got something I wanna say. I’ve spent the last 15 years helping people say what they wanna say, and I’m so thankful and blessed that they allowed me to help them do that, and I wanted to have the experience of getting to know what it is, getting to be a frontman."

After he performed his raucously fun original song "My Lord Willing," the entire crowd was on their feet hollering, and the band couldn't have looked happier.
"That was a wowzer. I just want to say, this is not my normal, like, go-to music, but you made me fall in love with this genre of music. I love you all. You made me feel really happy. I love everything really about it," Mel B said.
"Loved it loved it loved it. That was a perfect audition. Your voice is amazing. The song was amazing. Your band is amazing. The energy, the joy that you bring the people is amazing, all of it was what AGT is all about," Vergara added.
Mandel and Cowell both predicted that "My Lord Willing" would soon take off as a single. "I believe that not only was that a good audition, I believe that we just heard a hit. Go check the charts tomorrow, I bet this song is charting right now," said Mandel, to which Cowell responded, "That was um, really, really fantastic. I’m with you, Howie, I think that’s a hit song. Such an amazing feeling when everything goes right. The performance, the band, the song, everything. I just love…you!"

In addition to "Scars To Your Beautiful," Pynk Beard (using his nom de plume, Sebastian Kole, and birth name, Coleridge Gardner Tillman) has penned a number of other successful songs for Alessia Cara, like "Here," "Wild Things," and "I'm Yours."
He's also written for other artists including Jennifer Lopez and Alicia Keys.
Earlier this month, he earned his first Emmy nomination for his work on a song that was used in the Amazon show Spider-Noir. It's only up from here for Pynk Beard!
