Queen Camilla's popularity may be on the rise today, but Her Majesty once faced significant challenges in winning public favor.
During her early years in the royal spotlight, especially after her 2005 marriage to King Charles, Camilla faced substantial public criticism.
This backlash traced back years earlier, with Camilla frequently facing public disapproval for her affair with Charles - then Prince of Wales - while he was married to Diana.

Although negative sentiment toward the 78-year-old Camilla has proven difficult to overcome, it appears this has finally shifted, particularly over the past 18 months.
Following the King's cancer diagnosis, Queen Camilla has taken on greater responsibilities than ever, with one royal commentator suggesting this demonstrates how "right" Princess Diana was in her assessment of her.
Seasoned royal analyst and former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond noted that Diana, who passed away in 1997, was accurate in describing Camilla as "loyal", as she has remained steadfast beside the King through some of his most challenging periods.
Jennie stated: "I think part of it is because she so much wants the man she loves to be proud of her, and to pull her weight in their partnership."
"But also it must be so gratifying to have earned widespread approval - even affection - from a public who once ganged up against her as the 'marriage breaker' and the 'other woman' who made Diana so unhappy.
"I think Diana was absolutely right to tell me that Camilla was 'loyal' and that Charles's love for Camilla was stronger than any marriage he might ever have made."
Jennie also noted that Camilla "has grown immeasurably in confidence" in recent years, something that's now evident to everyone.
According to the most recent YouGov poll, Queen Camilla ranked as the seventh most popular Royal Family member, placing ahead of Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
Of those surveyed by YouGov, 43% held a positive view of Camilla, while 44% expressed a negative opinion, and 13% remained undecided.
The findings indicate that although Camilla's favorability appears to be rising, considerable progress remains to be made in gaining broader public approval.
