Prince Harry has been advised to embrace his authentic self if he hopes to win back public favor.

The advice comes after the Duke appeared on a podcast where he laughed at himself and made self-deprecating jokes about his thinning hair.

Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have faced intense criticism in the years since stepping back from royal duties, with the Duchess previously claiming she was once “the most trolled” person in the world.

Prince Harry has been told that if he wants people to start seeing him in a more positive light, he should lean into the witty and quirky personality that once made him so popular.

Over the past several years, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been caught up in a bitter feud with the royal family, while some of their personal and business ventures have also failed to meet expectations.

As a result, the easygoing personality that royal watchers embraced before Harry’s 2018 wedding to Meghan has largely taken a backseat. PR expert Nick Ede has now suggested that Harry should remain true to himself if he wants to reconnect with the public, particularly after his recent appearance on the UK podcast “Joe Marler Will See You Now.”

“For Harry’s reputation, authenticity is his greatest asset,” Ede told the Daily Express. “This appearance moves him away from being viewed solely as someone caught up in royal drama and closer to being seen as a relatable husband, father, and veteran with a good sense of humor.”

According to the communications expert, Harry’s decision to avoid discussing his controversial past and instead focus on lighthearted topics, including his thinning hair, allowed audiences to see him in a much more favorable light.

Ede believes more appearances like this could gradually help rebuild the Duke’s public image.

“If he continues doing more conversations like this, rather than focusing on past grievances, it could be one of the smartest moves he’s made for rebuilding his public image,” Ede said.

“He has so often been seen through the lens of legal battles, family tensions and serious interviews, but here we saw a far more natural, relaxed and genuinely funny side of him.”

Ede also noted that Harry’s appearance evoked memories of the prince many people admired years ago.

“It reminded people of the Prince Harry many connected with years ago, someone warm, self-deprecating and able to laugh at himself, which is what Meghan saw in him too,” he added.

Harry Pokes Fun At His Balding

During his trip to the UK, Harry appeared on Joe Marler’s podcast, where he showcased his playful side throughout the conversation.

At one point, he was asked about his “grooming routine,” but jokingly suggested he keeps things simple because there’s “nothing really happening on top.”

“Sh-t, shower, and shave,” he said, adding that he trims his beard every other day to keep it “a little bit tidy.”

“I get a haircut; otherwise, I try not to look at what’s happening,” he joked. “No. Um, and then, I don’t think…we don’t need to go there.”

Harry Had More Relatable Moments During The Conversation

Another relatable moment came when Harry insisted he doesn’t consider himself a redhead, despite what many people assume because of his hair color, describing it instead as a “sunset auburn” shade.

“What do people most often get wrong about you?” the host asked.

“That I’m not ginger,” Harry replied.

“People think I’m ginger, but I’m more sort of like sunset… auburn,” he said before adding, “I don’t know why that’s funny.”

The conversation also turned more emotional when Harry revealed that he had been bullied in school and was often called “carrot top.”
