For the first time in franchise history, a member of the Portland Fire will participate in the WNBA All-Star festivities. For the first time in franchise history, a member of the Portland Fire will participate in the WNBA All-Star festivities.

On Tuesday afternoon, the WNBA announced that Bridget Carleton would be a member of the upcoming 3-point contest.

Carleton will play alongside Dallas’ Azzi Fudd, Toronto’s Marina Mabrey, Atlanta’s Rhyne Howard, Seattle’s Natisha Hiedeman and Golden State’s Janelle Salaün.

An eight-year WNBA veteran, Carleton is currently having her best year as a pro. She’s averaging 13.5 points per game along with 3.8 rebounds and 1.7 steals.

She’s making 38.2% of her 3-pointers this season. She’s averaging 2.6 made 3-pointers per game, tying her for fourth in the WNBA.

During the Fire’s loss to Minnesota on Saturday, Carleton passed Sophia Witherspoon for the most 3-pointers made in a single season in Fire history. Carleton now has 65 3-pointers this year. Witherspoon made 60 in 2000.

The WNBA All-Star Game will take place on Saturday in Chicago. The 3-point contest is scheduled for Friday night and will be available to watch on ESPN and Disney+.
