Phillies ace Zack Wheeler and his wife Dominique have cashed in on a Soho passion project, selling their penthouse at 73 Wooster St. for $26 million, a price that sets a new benchmark for the neighborhood.

The sale works out to nearly $5,400 per square foot, the highest average price per square foot recorded in the trendy neighborhood over the past five years, The Post has learned.

The buyer’s identity remains unknown and was purchased through an LLC.

Penthouse A spans 4,856 square feet of loft living and comes with a sprawling 3,008-square-foot private rooftop terrace, one of the largest and most private outdoor spaces in the neighborhood. The unit initially hit the market for $27 million.

The residence sits inside a boutique, full-service condominium with just six units total.

Inside, the home retains 15-foot ceilings, original casement windows and exposed brick, along with 53 feet of frontage overlooking West Broadway.

The layout includes wide-open living and dining areas, a chef’s kitchen and a climate-controlled wine vault, in addition to the four bedroom suites.

A staircase off the main living space leads up to the rooftop, where the Wheelers built out a pergola, an outdoor kitchen, a bocce court and several separate lounge areas.

Building amenities include a full-time doorman and private storage.

The Wheelers picked up the property in 2024 for $16 million, then poured money and design work into a full renovation before flipping it for a $10 million gain.

Among the standout features is what’s believed to be the first privately commissioned residential mural by celebrity tattoo artist Mr. K.

Mr. K (Sanghyuk Ko) is a globally recognized, Seoul-born fine-line tattoo artist based at the prestigious Bang Bang NYC studio in Manhattan. Known for his intricate micro-style and single-needle black-and-grey designs, he regularly tattoos an A-list clientele, including David Beckham, Angelina Jolie, Matt Damon, and Ariana Grande,

For Dominique, who spearheaded the renovation alongside interior design firm 1508 London, the sale closes the loop on a project rooted in sentimental territory.

“New York has always been a special place for us. It’s where Zack and I met and where he started his career with the Mets, which is why this penthouse felt like a passion project from the start,” she told The Post.

She made clear the couple never planned to stay long term.

“We never purchased it with the intention of it being a long-term hold. Instead, it was an opportunity to create something truly special and put our own stamp on an incredible property and city,” Dominique said, adding that she was “heavily involved in leading the design vision” and that “every detail was carefully considered.”

With the renovation complete and their vision realized, the Wheelers decided it was time to let someone else take over.

Gavin Shiminski and Jonathan Stein of Douglas Elliman held the listing.

Wheeler, 36, is a veteran starting pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies widely considered one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball, he boasts a Cy Young-caliber track record and signed a three-year, $126 million contract extension with the Phillies.

Giants 'Pride Night' drama spectacularly backfires into financial consequences

The decisions that four San Francisco Giants players made during the franchise’s Pride Night on June 12 is costing the club more than just its reputation. Outsports reported on Tuesday that the Giants’ attendance at Oracle Park is down between 5% and 7% since four Christian Giants players chose to make a statement about their faith on Pride Night. What’s more, attendance in the Giants’ past seven home games is down between 8% and 11% when...

Iconic Valley diner that opened in 1977 to permanently close: 'Nothing good lasts anymore'

A classic family-owned vintage diner in Van Nuys is shutting down after nearly 50 years of serving customers. Heart’s Coffee Shop, a community staple since 1977, has been the go-to spot for traditional American comfort food and a retro atmosphere in San Fernando Valley. Regulars saw the diner not just as a place to eat, but as a living piece of neighborhood history. News of the closure has people outpouring emotions on the internet. An...

NYC’s welfare spending is out of control — and Mamdani won’t stop it

New York’s welfare rolls have skyrocketed — and the trend’s sure to grow worse under Mayor Zohran Mamdani, because the issue isn’t poverty levels but political will. Some 865,000 residents collected cash assistance this past year, sending the city’s welfare spending to a record $2.7 billion. That’s up from a low of 336,000 soon after Mayor Mike Bloomberg left office; welfare soon started edging up under Mayor Bill de Blasio — then began to...

Congress is ancient — someone needs to make sure they are fit to serve

Seniority in government When Sen. Lindsey Graham left, it also left a conversation about USA’s aging officials. Most have thinning white hair or minuscule remnants dyed. Lighthouse residents even notice it. How much after their Sweet Sixteens should the public follow wheelchairs of our many longtime officials who could call Methuselah “kid.” Shouldn’t Congress reveal their health? Aged limbs? Skinny snow white strands surrounded with big empty...

I have been an appraiser for 10 years – these 6 upgrades immediately tank resale value

After a decade of walking through other people's homes with a clipboard and a tape measure, I've learned that good taste and good resale value are not the same thing. Homeowners often assume that spending more money automatically means their house is worth more, but appraisals don't work that way. Value comes from comparable sales, buyer demand, and how a home fits the expectations of its neighborhood, not from how much love or money went into a...
