Last week, Carolina Panthers president of football operations and general manager Dan Morgan put the cherry on top of a what looks to be another successful offseason.
He spoke about that on Wednesday, as reporters asked Morgan about the return of offensive lineman Brady Christensen. During his pre-training camp press conference, he said bringing back the versatile hog molly was "an easy thing to do."
"Brady's versatility—it's huge. He can play all five spots," stated Morgan, who re-signed Christensen to a one-year deal this past weekend. "Talking to him last season, talking to him throughout the offseason—we did a really good job of staying in touch with him."
Christensen, a third-round pick from the 2021 NFL Draft, has played each of his five NFL seasons in Carolina. Unfortunately, his 2025 campaign was cut short after he tore his Achilles tendon in the Panthers' Week 8 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
But now that he's been cleared for contact, Christensen and his positional flexibility should prove especially valuable this year.
The Panthers are expected to enter the regular season without both of their starting offensive tackles in Ikem Ekwonu (knee) and Taylor Moton (blood clot). Although he's not likely to take their roles in the lineup, Christensen—who has recorded snaps at every spot along the trench—will be a valuable depth piece.
As Morgan confirmed earlier in the presser, veteran Rasheed Walker will man left tackle and 2026 first-round pick Monroe Freeling will take the right.
