Seeing an animal in distress is never easy, but sometimes you might be able to help.
A civilian saw a tiny orange kitten thrown from a moving vehicle on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge in Prince George's County, Maryland. Thankfully, according to the caption in a TikTok video shared by Fox 5 DC News, the kitten was unharmed and able to be safely rescued.
Commenters on the shocking video were rightfully upset, but expressed relief that the sweet baby was okay.

What to Do If You Find a Kitten in Distress
If you find yourself in the position where you find a stray or potentially abandoned kitten, the first step is to assess the situation. Is mama cat nearby? Are there any immediate threats to keep them away from? This helps you determine what to do next.
The biggest threat to kittens is the cold and hypothermia. Immediately make sure the kitten has access to warmth or wrap them in something like a towel. Especially if they're also wet. Never feed a kitten that you're trying to get warm, as it can be dangerous for them. Heating pads can also be helpful, but make sure they do not overheat.
If the kitten is over the age of 5 weeks, they can typically eat wet food. Kittens below that age require bottle feeding every two to three hours.
The best course of action if you find yourself in this situation is to contact a local rescue or a vet. The experts are your best resource and can help you and the kittens figure out the best course(s) of action.
