Members of Oklahoma Task Force 1, including personnel from the Tulsa Fire Department, will remain in Texas for an additional seven days as they continue supporting communities impacted by flooding along the Frio River.
Andy Little with the Tulsa Fire Department said the deployment was extended as crews continue responding to rising water and changing conditions.
Little said Oklahoma Task Force 1 is working alongside Oklahoma Task Force 2, Florida Task Force 4, the Texas National Guard and local agencies as flooding continues.
Over the past week, crews have remained on standby with rescue squads ready to respond to evacuations and swift-water rescues. They have also worked with Texas National Guard high-profile vehicles to reach areas threatened by rising water while monitoring rapidly changing river conditions.
"The safety of our responders remains a top priority. We're grateful to report that all Oklahoma Task Force 1 personnel are healthy, injury-free, and in good spirits as they continue this important mission," Little said.
He also asked the public to keep those affected by the flooding in their thoughts.
"Please keep all of the first responders, emergency personnel, and the families affected by these floods in your thoughts as this operation continues."

Oklahoma Task Force One has deployed to Texas for a 7-day mission to support ongoing flood response operations.
The deployment includes four Type 3 Swift Water Teams, including members from the Tulsa region who will assist with emergency response efforts in the Texas Hill Country.
"I am so proud to have Oklahoma Task Force 1 representing our state and assisting our neighbors," said Governor Stitt. "They are the embodiment of the Oklahoma Standard, and I am grateful for their service. As Texas deals with dangerous flooding, I am authorizing Task Force 1 to deploy to assist."
Reports indicate severe flooding across the Texas Hill Country. Below is a look at some of the floodwaters Oklahoma Task Force One members will be assisting with during their deployment.
Tulsa firefighters join swift water deployment
Two of the deployed teams are from OK-TF1-Tulsa and include 10 members of the Tulsa Fire Department.
The teams also include personnel from Skiatook Fire Department, Verdigris Fire District and Grand River Dam Authority.
The remaining two teams are from the Oklahoma City region of Oklahoma Task Force One.
Teams bring boats and specialized equipment
Together, the four swift water teams will bring 8 boats to support flood response operations.
The teams are trained to assist with water rescues and emergency response efforts during severe flooding situations.
Tulsa team travels to Texas Hill Country
The Tulsa team left Tuesday afternoon and will stop in the Dallas area to refuel before continuing to San Antonio.
The team will then report for its assignment in the Texas Hill Country.
