An off-duty Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office detention deputy was arrested Tuesday after an alleged fight with a co-worker.
The 39-year-old deputy was arrested by Wichita Police Department officers after a physical altercation with another detention deputy, according to a news release from Sedgwick County.
The fight was reported to police Tuesday afternoon at an apartment complex in the 9000 block of East Lincoln, west of Lincoln and Webb Road in east Wichita, according to the news release.
The deputy was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property, the release said. The deputy was hired by the sheriff’s office in September.
He was place on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation.
The Eagle typically does not identify people who are arrested unless they are charged with a crime.
