Nick Kyrgios has been confirmed to compete in doubles alongside Frances Tiafoe at next week's Washington tournament, marking the Australian's latest appearance in what could be the final stretch of his career.
The seven-time ATP champion has played singles at only three tournaments this year - Brisbane, Stuttgart and Mallorca.
Kyrgios also competed in doubles at those three events before partnering Alexander Bublik at Wimbledon, where he played only doubles and later suggested it was likely his final appearance at The Championships.
Kyrgios and Tiafoe reunite in Washington doubles
This won't be the first time Kyrgios and Tiafoe have teamed up in Washington.
The pair previously played doubles together at the tournament in 2021, when they defeated Rohan Bopanna and Ivan Dodig in the opening round before falling to Sebastian Korda and Jannik Sinner in the quarterfinal.
Meanwhile, while partnering Bublik at The Championships earlier this month, Kyrgios also admitted after their first-round loss that he was "pretty confident" it had been his final Wimbledon appearance.
Kyrgios remains uncertain about the rest of his schedule
During this past week's Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS) event in Rio de Janeiro, Kyrgios confirmed that Washington was next on his schedule but admitted he wasn't sure what would come after that.
"Honestly, not too sure. I take it a week at a time. After this I’m going to Washington, that’s all I know right now. Not too sure about much more than that, but we’ll see how we go," the current world No. 910 replied when asked about his schedule for the rest of 2026.
It remains to be seen how far Kyrgios and Tiafoe can go in their second Washington appearance.
