The Kansas City Chiefs have unveiled the first official renderings of their proposed new stadium, offering fans a glimpse of the franchise's future home.
The four-time Super Bowl champions confirmed plans in December to leave the iconic Arrowhead Stadium in Missouri and relocate across state lines to Kansas. The proposed move would see the Chiefs build a state-of-the-art, domed venue in Wyandotte County as part of a $3 billion development.
On Wednesday, the franchise released the first images of the project, showcasing the design of the new stadium, which is currently targeted to open in 2031. The domed venue is expected to host not only NFL games but also major concerts and year-round events.

A standout feature of the proposed $3 billion stadium, designed by Kansas-based architecture firm MANICA, is its fully enclosed dome, which will be topped by a translucent ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) roof. The innovative design is intended to allow natural light into the venue while providing protection from the elements.
The new stadium also takes inspiration from the Chiefs' historic home, Arrowhead Stadium, which opened in 1972. Its symmetrical, curved exterior and distinctive scalloped upper decks in each end zone are designed to preserve the franchise's iconic stadium identity while introducing a modern look.
In a statement accompanying the renderings, Chiefs chairman and CEO Clark Hunt said the 70,000-seat venue has been designed to maximize crowd noise, following feedback from season-ticket holders gathered through multiple fan surveys. Arrowhead has long been renowned as one of the loudest stadiums in sport, reclaiming the Guinness World Record in 2014 when Chiefs fans reached a deafening 142.2 decibels after briefly losing the mark to the Seattle Seahawks.
"Today we are excited to show Chiefs Kingdom a first look at our new home" said Hunt. "From the beginning, our goal has been to build something that improved the gameday experience for every single fan. This new stadium will do just that. It's spectacular. It honors the rich legacy of this franchise while setting a bold course for the future of Chiefs Kingdom.
"While we're still finalizing many of the details, there are a few things we know for sure: it will hold 70,000 fans, it will still be the best place in the world to tailgate, and the whole building will be built for noise."
According to the Chiefs, the stadium's seating bowl has been designed to reflect the atmosphere and layout of Arrowhead Stadium, preserving elements that have defined the franchise for decades. The team's Ring of Honor will overlook the seating bowl, while the Hall of Honor will be twice the size of its current home at Arrowhead. The official team store is also set to expand significantly, becoming four times larger than the existing retail space.
The new venue will also feature a greater number of luxury suites and premium hospitality areas, part of the club's strategy to generate additional revenue and enhance the fan experience.
Beginning in 2032, the Chiefs plan to pursue bids to host some of the world's biggest sporting events, with securing Kansas City's first Super Bowl ranking among the franchise's top ambitions.
