The Boston Celtics have emerged as another potential landing spot for free agent guard Bradley Beal, joining the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers as teams reportedly connected to the veteran scorer.

During the latest episode of Bleacher Report’s NBA Insider Notebook, NBA insider Jake Fischer said Beal’s free agency remains active and suggested several playoff contenders are monitoring the three-time All-Star’s decision.

“I was told today that Bradley Beal’s decision is not exactly being held up by LeBron, but is being impacted by it. I do think there’s some Miami interest there, and I would not rule out Boston for Beal because of the connection with Jayson Tatum. (…) He could go back to the Clippers. (…) Beal is definitely going to be signed by a team with playoff aspirations, that is my understanding there.”

Boston’s reported interest comes during a transformative offseason for the franchise. The Celtics recently traded 2024 NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Paul George, two first-round picks, a first-round pick swap and two second-round picks, leaving the team searching for additional backcourt depth and scoring.

The Heat have also been linked to several veteran guards this offseason as they continue exploring ways to strengthen their roster around Giannis Antetokounmpo, while the Clippers remain a logical destination given Beal’s familiarity with the organization.

According to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel, Beal is interested in playing in South Beach shortly after declining his $5.6 million player option for the 2026-27 season with Los Angeles.

“Whether or not Beal, coming off his hip injury, would be willing to take a minimum contract from Miami to join Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo in their championship pursuit is the big question that would dictate whether his immediate future is with the Heat,” Siegel wrote.

“While it’s possible the Heat could offer Beal part of their mid-level exception to equal the option he declined with LA, Miami will be pursuing several other options in free agency.”

Beal’s 2025-26 campaign was limited by injury. The 33-year-old underwent season-ending surgery to repair a fractured left hip after appearing in just six games, averaging 8.2 points while shooting 37.5% from the field and 36.8% from 3-point range in 20.2 minutes per contest.

Despite those injury concerns, Beal has continued to draw interest because of his proven scoring ability. During the 2024-25 season with the Phoenix Suns, he averaged 17.0 points, 3.7 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals while shooting 49.7% from the field and 38.6% from beyond the arc across 53 games.

Fischer’s report indicates Beal is expected to prioritize joining a contender, making the Celtics, Heat and Clippers logical destinations as the veteran guard weighs the next chapter of his NBA career.
