Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier finally made her long-awaited debut in the 2026 WNBA season on Wednesday, helping her team eke out an 86-76 victory on the road over the Seattle Storm.
Collier missed the Lynx’s first 27 games this season after suffering a torn ligament injury in her left ankle during the 2025 WNBA playoffs. She went under the knife in the offseason to address the injury, and now, she’s back on the court to give Minnesota a huge shot the arm.
In her return to action, he reminded everyone why she’s one of the best players of her generation. The former WNBA Rookie of the Year led the Lynx with 24 points on 9-for-20 shooting from the field with two 3-pointers, 10 rebounds, two assists and a block in just 22 minutes.

Following the game, Collier jokingly alluded to getting fatigued early in the contest.
“I needed that sub,” Collier said (h/t Kendra Andrews of ESPN).
Nonetheless, it was clear that Collier got the job done, immediately delivering a big impact (and numbers) to her team, showing few signs of rust after such a long absence. Her performance against the Storm was also the fourth time in her career that she put up at least 20 points in a season debut.
Meanwhile, Kayla McBride provided 20 points in support of Collier against the Storm, as the Lynx improved to 22-6. Despite the time it took for Collier to return to action, Minnesota managed to be one of the best (if not the best) teams in the 2026 campaign.
Collier and the Lynx own the best record in the league at the moment with a 220-6 slate.
