MS NOW rebutted Senator John Fetterman’s (D-PA) claim that the network won’t invite him on as a guest in a Wednesday statement to Mediaite.
A Wednesday exclusive from the Washington Examiner quoted Fetterman telling the publication, “I hope you can print: ‘MSNBC won’t invite me on.'”
The senator was referring to the network by its previous name.
“I don’t know why,” Fetterman continued of the alleged blacklisting. “I mean, I’m a committed Democrat. I’m not sure what their editorial issue is with.” Citing his voting history in the Senate, he called the experience “really strange.”
However, an MS NOW spokesperson told Mediaite on Wednesday, “This claim is inaccurate.”
Just last week, despite emphasizing his allegiance to his party to the Examiner, Fetterman threatened to leave the Democratic Party over its decreasing support of Israel, telling Fox News, “That’s my red line.”
That wasn’t the only time the senator spoke similarly last week. At a summit hosted last Wednesday by The Hill, Fetterman clarified that while he has “no plans” to leave the party, “If our party ever becomes — and just makes it official — the anti-Israel party, that’s when I would leave because that’s been a moral clarity for me.”
And while speaking to CNN’s Manu Raju last Thursday, he mentioned Michigan Senate hopeful Abdul El-Sayed, slamming him for his pro-Palestinian stance and for campaigning with popular socialist streamer Hasan Piker.
“Look at the kinds of people that we’ve elected in the primaries, not just pro-Palestinian, just intensely, intensely anti-Israel,” he told Raju.
“If they make [voting against Israel] the official platform of the party, then that’s a much different situation,” Fetterman explained when asked by the network what would cause him to leave the party.
In Wednesday’s Washington Examiner piece, the senator mentioned his frequent appearances on Fox, CNN, and, “occasionally,” CBS and ABC, adding that he prefers networks that “play things straight.” The publication also reported in a separate analysis that Fetterman has made 56 appearances on Fox News and 13 on CNN so far in 2026.
