When Mike Santana left TNA following Slammiversary, he was immediately teasing a jump to WWE. He teased July 15 as a big day but when it came, he only posted a video to social media saying goodbye to TNA while again teasing a move to WWE. He never appeared at Saturday Night’s Main Event in New York, but the word from media outlets remained that he would likely be coming in sooner rather than later.

In the main event of this week’s episode of NXT television, Tony D’Angelo vanquished Naraku, defeating him in a Street Fight to retain the NXT championship. It was almost certainly a blowoff to their short lived feud The Don mostly dominated. We didn’t have to wait long to see who his next challenger is likely to be.
Santana’s music hit and he entered the WWE Performance Center to a relatively tepid response.
Rumors indicated WWE hopes to have him on the main roster by the end of the year, but at the very least he’ll be starting his run in NXT, working opposite the top guy in the promotion right now.
