McDonald’s is releasing 4 new menu items for a limited time

A discontinued favorite is back in a whole new way.

Food trends can be a tricky business. Sometimes, the moment’s viral food creation can be fleeting—like the famous 2020 whipped Dalgona coffee—but, if we’re lucky, a trending flavor or product has the potential to stick around for months—or, in the case of pickle and hot honey, years. 

Because it’s hard to know how long a trend might be buzzy, oftentimes, restaurant chains shy away from releasing menu items based on the flavor of the moment. But when a flavor sticks and customers continue to crave it, it’s almost silly not to capitalize on it. 

So, after years as a popular flavor—and years of fans begging McDonald’s to bring it back—Caesar is returning to the Golden Arches. However, it’s coming back in a whole new way.

McDonald’s Introduces New Caesar Sauce

For years, McDonald’s—much like Wendy’s—offered traditional salads, including a popular Chicken Caesar variety. However, Mickey D’s discontinued its salads in 2020.

While the salad itself isn’t returning, the Caesar flavor is with McDonald’s all-new Caesar Sauce. The sauce is a creamy blend of rich Parmesan, zesty lemon, and bold garlic flavors that can be ordered à la carte for dipping or on your favorite chicken menu items. 

And that’s not all. On July 21, McDonald’s is debuting a Bacon Caesar McCrispy, a Caesar Snack Wrap, and McCrispy Strips with Caesar Sauce.

The new Bacon Caesar McCrispy sandwich features a McCrispy filet topped with tangy Caesar Sauce, applewood-smoked bacon, shredded lettuce, Roma tomato, crispy onions, and crinkle-cut pickles on a toasted potato roll. 

Chicken Caesar wraps might be the most popular way to enjoy the dressing—aside from the traditional salad—and while chains like Jimmy John’s and Sweetgreen have some version of a Caesar wrap, Mickey D’s is one of the first to bring the popular wrap to the drive-thrus. The Caesar Snack Wrap features a McCrispy Strip topped with cheese, shredded lettuce, and Caesar sauce, all rolled in a tortilla.

Fresh off the recipe revamp, McDonald’s McCrispy Strips, now crunchier thanks to a new Panko breading, can be paired with the Caesar Sauce for dunking.

Mickey D’s new Caesar Sauce and its three Caesar-topped menu items will only be available for a limited time. So don’t miss out on what might be your last chance to call your go-to McDonald’s order a Caesar “salad.”
