That’s seemingly what happened when The Odyssey stars Matt Damon and Zendaya sat down with MTV UK for a game of ”Who Even Am I?,” which saw Damon struggle to summon his castmate’s surname.
The moment in question, which occurred about 16 minutes into the video, saw Zendaya attempt to identify her Euphoria costar Colman Domingo in a guessing game.
“Do we share a name?” the actress asked before realizing, “You might not know my last name.”
Damon appeared slightly confused as he struggled to answer the question. “Uhhhh…” he muttered.
“Someone is saying yes,” Zendaya said as she pointed to a producer standing off-camera. “Is it Colman Domingo?”
Damon confirmed that his costar’s guess was correct, and the duo moved on to sing the praises of the Sing Sing star without addressing Damon’s apparent forgetfulness.
Zendaya — born Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman — said that Domingo is “one of my favorites” to share scenes with.
“Please tell me he’s great to work with,” Damon said.
“He is the best,” Zendaya confirmed. “Kind, open.”
“So happy to hear that,” Damon responded.
Zendaya then reflected on the natural rapport she shares with Domingo on screen. “He’s one of my favorite scene partners, because there’s just such a flow and ease, and he’s just, like I said, so open,” she said. “It’s just easy when you have those folks that you just lock in with each other, and it’s easy.”
The Dune and The Drama star explained that Domingo makes her feel extremely comfortable whenever she has a difficult scene ahead. “I’m always worried about crying, like having to get to those emotional places, I stress myself out so bad,” she said. “Any scene with him, it’s easy. I’ve never had to even think about it. When I’m across from him, I don’t know what he’s giving me, what’s going on.”
Damon chimed in, “Great actors are good enough for both of you, right? When you have a scene partner like that, it’s like riding a wave.”
“It really is. And he just gives so much,” Zendaya responded.
“I’ve heard only the best things about him,” Damon said. “So I’m glad that you’re confirming.”
Zendaya said she’d like to see Damon and Domingo go toe-to-toe. “I would love to see you two in a scene together,” she said.
“I would love to work with him,” Damon replied.
Elsewhere in the video, the Martian star praised Zendaya’s performance as Athena in The Odyssey, noting how her limited time on set presented an extra challenge.
“Your job on this movie was deceptively difficult, because you had to parachute in for highly emotional scenes, without any chance to get into the rhythm of the time zone we were in,” he said. “To be able to show up from Euphoria, from a completely different world, into this world and carry these scenes — it’s the reason Chris called you perfect.”

Damon went on to share his appreciation for Zendaya and her longtime partner, Tom Holland, who also stars in the film. “You are extraordinary. I feel that way about you and your fella,” he said. “I’m so happy that there’s a generation coming behind us that are not only as talented, but as kind and as professional as you guys. You guys are wonderful.”
The Odyssey is in theaters now.
