The movie drops in December.

The wait is over, we have our first real look at this December's upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe epic. A surprise countdown appeared on the official Marvel Entertainment YouTube channel, ending at 9 a.m. ET on Monday morning. The first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday officially dropped, showcasing a litany of superheroes that we have not yet seen share the screen in the MCU.

The trailer truly had it all, setting up Doctor Doom -- played by former Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. -- as the big threat. The Fantastic Four meet up with the New Avengers (a.k.a. the Thunderbolts), with Thor, Black Panther, M'Baku, Ant-Man, Captain America, Shang Chi, Loki, and more appearing in the nearly two-and-a-half-minute trailer.

We also get Thor reuniting with the original Captain America, Steve Rogers, still played by Chris Evans.

It's shaping up to be a massive movie, but it has been seven years -- and 15 movies (including July's Spider-Man: Brand New Day) -- since we last had an Avengers movie.

Avengers: Doomsday releases in theaters on December 18, 2026.
