ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Duluth police arrested a man inside a local Walmart earlier this month after he allegedly pulled down his pants and performed a lewd act inside the store.

Police bodycam footage shows officers questioning George Anthony Richard inside the store off Pleasant Hill Road while an employee pulls up surveillance footage and points out the suspect’s movements.

Police said the video shows Richard allegedly walking around the women’s clothing section and pulling down his pants.

According to police, Richard then performed a lewd act in front of a woman and a child in the middle of the store.

Shoppers said they were stunned to learn what happened.

“I’m really surprised and shocked. It’s unfortunate,” said shopper Kelley Cody Grimm.

“Yeah, that’s very wild,” said shopper Chris Gresham. “Outrageous. Like, I don’t even know how to describe it.”

Walmart said it acted quickly once employees became aware of the incident.

“The safety of our customers and associates is a top priority. As soon as we were made aware of this incident, we took immediate action. We are continuing to work with law enforcement as they investigate,” the company said in a statement.

After reviewing surveillance footage and reading Richard his Miranda rights, police arrested him inside the store.

“It’s good to know that he was caught,” Grimm said.

Richard is facing several charges including public indecency, child molestation and stalking.
