The man accused of ambushing an Edmond Police officer during a traffic stop is expected to be sentenced Wednesday afternoon.
Court documents show 23-year-old Ocean Hudson approached Edmond Police Officer Caleb Hodam during a traffic stop in May 2025, spraying him with pepper spray and stabbing him multiple times.
Hudson entered a blind plea earlier this year, meaning he admitted guilt without a sentencing agreement.

According to court documents, Hudson told investigators he wanted to die by "suicide by cop" before the attack. Police said Hudson was due in court the day of the incident for separate charges involving lewd acts with a child and possession of child pornography.

Investigators said body camera and in-car camera footage captured the attack near East 15th Street and Broadway. Police said Hudson pulled a knife from his clothing and stabbed Hodam during the confrontation.
Despite being injured and temporarily unable to see, police said Hodam was able to fight back and take Hudson to the ground. A bystander helped restrain Hudson and removed the knife.

Earlier this week, Hodam was awarded for his actions during the attack. Hodam was hospitalized following the stabbing, but made a full recovery.
Hudson's sentencing is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
