Mama Skunk Leads Her Family Around the Neighborhood So Proudly, and It’s Precious

She knows the way!

Skunks get too much hate, in my opinion. I understand that they smell bad, and I'm no stranger to a dog getting hit by one of them in the middle of the night, but from afar, I adore them. I just think they're so precious!

Recently, a gaggle of skunks went for a walk around a neighborhood, and it was perfect in every way. The mama skunk led her family around like it was nobody's business, and it was just too perfect... Until they made their way into one woman's garage:

Sarah Michelle Davidson is both the luckiest and unluckiest person I have ever seen in my life. While seeing a whole family of skunks is super cool and uncommon, an entire family of skunks entering your garage is definitely concerning.

The best part of the whole video is how fast they're all moving: they're acting like they're late for a dinner reservation in that garage or something! They had absolutely no trouble moving in, and unfortunately for Sarah, I have a feeling it'll be difficult to get them to leave...

Sarah was, admittedly, not ecstatic about the idea of a family of skunks moving into her garage. It just wouldn't end well, probably... And she was right. The only thing she could do was chase them out, and it was too funny to miss:

Apparently, there were 6 of them... Or maybe 7? She lost count, which had everybody cracking up! They were just going so fast! She got them all out, though, and no accidents occurred! Thank goodness.

How to Safely Get Skunks Out of Your Home

If there are skunks in your house, you don't need to freak out. In fact, freaking out is actually just about the worst thing you can do in a situation like this. If you freak out, they'll freak out, and everyone knows what happens when a skunk gets scared.

If you find yourself in a situation where you're face to face with a skunk in your house or yard, tread lightly. You should:

  • Secure any pets who are around.
  • If the skunk is in your house, open the doors.
  • If the skunk is in your yard, open your gate.
  • You can try enticing them out with things like cat food, but if you want to avoid being sprayed, you should avoid getting too close.

Skunks are generally non-confrontational animals: they don't want anything to do with you. Once they know you're there, they'll want to leave as soon as possible... Even if they're traveling in a whole pack!
