One of the most popular couples in the history of Love Island USA has officially called it quits. According to a report from PEOPLE, Olandria Carthen and Nic Vansteenberghe, who were affectionately known by fans by their ship name “Nicolandria,” have broken up after one year together.
Olandria and Nic met in the Fiji villa during Love Island USA season 7, and emerged as the fan-favorite couple, despite not winning the show.
The report states that their busy schedules and distance between them made the relationship too difficult to maintain, so they decided to call it quits despite remaining cordial with each other and good friends.

“The distance between them and their busy schedules made it challenging to maintain their connection,” the report said. “They still remain close friends. They share a deep love and respect for each other and will always support one another whenever possible.”
Vansteenberghe had originally been coupled with Cierra Ortega, who was booted from the show after previous racist comments were discovered on social media. During a twist in Casa Amor, Olandria and Nic began to explore their relationship.
Once they were coupled up, Nicolandria stole the hearts of the Love Island USA fandom and became the stars of the show. Since filming, Vansteenberghe has found success as a DJ, while Olandria has made several high-profile appearances and landed major brand deals and modeling gigs.

After leaving the villa, the couple kept their relationship out of the spotlight, which led to some speculation that they were not actually together and continuing to put on a facade to benefit from their popularity on the show.
“I don’t always post what people want me to or always do what people want me to do,” Olandria said during an interview with Cosmopolitan while discussing the parasocial relationships fans have with the Islanders. “Why does it matter if me and Nic are together? Even when we were at Coachella, people in the comments were like, ‘Oh, I just needed proof that they saw each other this week.’ Why are you so invested in people that don’t know you?”
She continued, “We don’t monetize our relationship or put it on display. If you genuinely like spending quality time with somebody, it shouldn’t involve a camera every two seconds. We enjoy each other’s presence and do what normal people do: go out, have fun, and get to know each other.”
Now, there is finally confirmation that they have gone their separate ways.
