Liverpool transfer news and rumors latest as the Reds continue to be linked with Yan Diomande, while there is an update surrounding the future of Curtis Jones.

Liverpool has had a quiet start to the summer transfer window so far, but there is some hope that a few moves will be pushed through in the coming weeks.

The Reds have so far sealed deals for Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz in an effort to bolster the backline and the forward line for the season ahead. Beyond them, Andoni Iraola is looking to add another winger to help replace Mohamed Salah, while a midfield addition and another signing in the backline could follow.

Several targets continue to be linked with a move across those positions, while a few exits could be on the cards to help raise funds for the transfer spend that is expected.

So, with that said, here's a look at the latest Liverpool transfer news and rumors ahead of another busy day of action in the market.

Yan Diomande (RB Leipzig)

Liverpool doesn't seem to be giving up on Yan Diomande just yet. The RB Leipzig player emerged as a priority target for the Reds earlier this summer, but after reports claimed that PSG was his preferred destination, a move seemed off the cards.

However, TeamTalk reports that the club recently made calls to Diomande's representatives over the possibility of making a transfer again this summer.

It's stated that Liverpool was told once again that a move to PSG is the Ivory Coast international's preferred move, though other reports have claimed that a switch may now be complicated.

Rivals Arsenal and Manchester City are also believed to have made contact, though the transfer saga remains in the hands of PSG.

Liverpool.com says: It's clear that Diomande remains a player that Liverpool is fond of, and it's no surprise that the lack of movement with PSG have led to the club revisiting a deal.

If things continue to stall, there may be an opening there for the Reds to land the winger. However, there may still be some concerns over such a move.

If Diomande doesn't join PSG, then that confirmation may come later in the window, at which point you may hope that Liverpool has moved onto other targets. On top of that, there is the knowledge that he seemingly rejected Liverpool, at a moment where Iraola will need players who actively want to play for the club... perhaps it's time to move on.

Curtis Jones (Liverpool)

Liverpool ace Curtis Jones continues to be linked with a move to Inter Milan this summer, as he enters the final year of his contract at Anfield.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri remains interested in a deal for the midfielder this summer, despite a rejected offer, but he isn't the current priority.

Instead, Inter is looking to get a deal over the line for Djed Spence, who has been linked with Liverpool, before switching focus to Jones once again.

Any deal could be dependent on outgoings from the San Siro in the market.

Liverpool.com says: The Curtis Jones saga looks like one that is set to drag out over the next month or two. The midfielder's contract situation means that teams will try and land a bargain, even with Liverpool's valuation set.

It means there are key decisions to come for the academy graduate, whether that comes as a move away or a potential contract extension.
