President Trump met with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Tuesday, the first time a Lebanese head of state has made a White House visit since 2009. Trump lauded the Lebanese nation and its people as he opened his meeting in the Oval Office.

The U.S. and Iran have escalated hostilities over the last 10 days, and Trump signaled the U.S. wasn’t leaving. “Honestly they haven’t seen anything yet. We’ve been nice,” he told reporters.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Gen. Dan Caine, along with Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins, are testifying in front of the Senate Appropriations Committee as the panel reviews Trump’s supplemental funding request.

The intensifying military conflict and the higher pump prices that have come with it are sparking fresh alarm among GOP lawmakers. As the House tries to pass a multitude of bills this week, Trump is scheduled to meet at the White House with GOP leaders at 5 p.m. EDT.

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) gets to move his packed legislative agenda forward as House Republicans passed a rule setting up floor debate and final votes on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), a stock trading ban bill, a budget framework for a third reconciliation package and a stopgap measure that would fund federal agencies at existing levels until Dec. 4.

On the campaign trail, Arizona holds its primary elections Tuesday. And in South Carolina, the filing period opens in the race to fill the late Sen. Lindsey Graham’s (R) spot on the November ballot for a new six-year term.

Trump says Israel has begun withdrawing from Lebanon: 'The world will take notice'

Israel has begun its withdrawal from southern Lebanon, President Trump said Tuesday, touting the US-backed security framework that prompted the move and insisting Lebanon now has a chance to finally break free from Hezbollah’s grip.
