A road in Lexington is shut down until further notice after a wreck involving a moped , according to the Lexington Traffic Management Center.
The crash happened around 12:27 p.m. on Clays Mill Road at Stratford Drive, which is near Lexington Catholic High School. Lexington police Lt. Ilya Sharapov said a vehicle hit a moped, sending the moped driver to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
It’s unknown if the driver of the other vehicle was injured or what caused the collision. Sharapov said officials with the collision reconstruction unit responded to the scene to investigate.
Both lanes of Clays Mill Road are blocked off while officials investigate the scene. A timeline of when the road might reopen was not provided.
