Between 2015 and 2018, the two best teams in the NBA were the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
In each of these four seasons, the Warriors represented the Western Conference and the Cavaliers represented the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals. To this day, it's still the only time in NBA history that two teams have met in three straight NBA Finals, and they did it four years in a row.
In all four of those finals, the Cavaliers were led by NBA superstar LeBron James. In three of those years, James wasn't able to overcome the mighty Warriors and beat them.
But in 2016, James helped lead the Cavaliers to the only 3-1 comeback in NBA Championship history when Cleveland did the unthinkable and beat Golden State in the finals to capture the franchise's first and, to this day, only championship.
The Warriors were once James' biggest NBA rival. But this offseason, with James as a free agent, he is said to be heavily considering joining them in free agency.
It would be quite the story, and something that absolutely no NBA fan would have ever seen coming a decade ago.
LeBron James and Stephen Curry Would Form a Mighty Duo
For the past 17 seasons, Stephen Curry has been one of the faces of the NBA alongside James. The two have played together on Team USA, but they have yet to play with each other in the NBA.
Could that happen this coming season?

For years, Warriors fans have drooled at the thought of pairing up Curry with James. Curry once got to play with Kevin Durant in Golden State, and we saw how potent that dangerous duo was when they won a pair of NBA Championships with Curry and Durant leading the way.
Although they are both way into their NBA careers at this point and among the oldest players in the NBA, both James and Curry are still incredible talents when they are healthy and on the floor. If they can both remain healthy this coming season playing together in Golden State, there is no reason to think that they can't help the Warriors make another title run and win their first championship since 2022.
James has said that winning is the most important factor in his free agency decision. He has four rings so far -- the same number as Curry. Both men would like to have a fifth ring so their entire hand has all four fingers and their thumb with a ring on it.
Maybe the best way for that to happen is for the two legends of the game to pair up in Golden State and try to win one there, while also helping head coach Steve Kerr win the 10th ring of his combined coaching and playing career, giving the legendary coach two hands full of rings.
It's truly a match made in heaven, and it would be incredible to see the dynamic duo team up in Golden State.

Warriors' Last Title Hopes Hinges on Getting LeBron James
The Warriors have one of the NBA's oldest rosters, and they have to know that they don't have much time left to pursue another NBA Championship with Curry, which is likely why they are making such a strong push to acquire James.
James is 41 (soon to be 42), Al Horford is 40, Curry is 38, Jimmy Butler III is 36 (soon to be 37), Draymond Green is 36, and Kristaps Porzingis is 30 (soon to be 31). I'd venture to guess that the Warriors have more players in their 30s (and 40s!) than any other team in the league right now.
We know that the NBA is a young man's sport. But the good thing about these older players that the Warriors have is that they are still productive. So yes, they are old, but they are also still good, and the Warriors still have another title run left in their old bones.
If James joins them, that title run becomes a lot easier, since he is still one of the best players in the league despite also being the oldest.
Will James choose the Warriors? We'll soon find out, as he is set to make his decision very soon. But for NBA fans all over the world, the GOAT, James, and the greatest 3-point shooter, Curry, teaming up in The Bay to win a chip would truly be something amazing to see.
